Technical Sales Support: Specialist Services for On-Farm Success

To maximise on-farm success, the Metson Technical Sales Support (TSS) team partners with our Regional Sales Managers to deliver specialist technical services.

  • Soil analysis (assisting with soil health and nutritional management)
  • Water analysis (evaluating water quality and suitability)

Technical Sales Support: North

Damian supports the North region, working closely with the sales and R&D teams while continuing to build his technical capability and contribute to consistent on-farm service delivery. His role strengthens the link between field requirements, technical support, and the broader delivery of practical agronomic service to customers.

Research & Development: Bridging Innovation and Field Success

Stuart Daly

Senior Manager: R&D Operations

Stuart serves as a crucial link between innovation and execution, helping align product development with the evolving needs of the agricultural sector. He plays an important role in coordinating research activities, supporting trial processes, and helping translate technical development into practical, field-ready solutions. His contribution strengthens the connection between scientific innovation, operational delivery, and the consistent advancement of Metson‘s product offering.

Anro Smith

Manager: R&D Trials

Anro leads Metson‘s trial work, ensuring regulatory compliance, high-quality data collection, and reliable field performance. His technical expertise supports the sales team through the interpretation of leaf, soil, and water analyses, enabling informed decision-making and effective product positioning. He also plays an important role in guiding on-farm product application, including cropping strategies, tank mix compatibility, and the development of solutions suited to real farming environments.

Craig Gurnell

Controller: R&D Chemical Lab and Technical Development

Craig applies his background in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering to develop product formulations that address complex agricultural needs. He supports technical service work through water titrations, product compatibility testing, custom client mixes, and practical problem-solving for field-based requirements. Craig also contributes to rigorous quality control and investigation processes that help maintain safe, stable, and effective product performance.

Johan Habig

R&D: Soil Microbiologist

Johan helps farmers understand how agricultural practices affect soil biological health and fertility. Through microbial analysis, he provides insight into how efficiently soil systems function, including nutrient cycling and the decomposition of organic material. His work supports timely, data-driven decisions that can improve fertiliser use, strengthen soil longevity, and enhance crop performance.

Together, the R&D and TSS team strengthens Metson‘s ability to develop practical, science-led solutions that respond to real on-farm challenges. By combining research excellence with field relevance, the team helps ensure that innovation is translated into consistent product performance, technical credibility, and long-term value for growers.

CIBDO Team: Customer-Facing Excellence in Order Management

The CIBDO (Consignment, In-Transit, and Direct Orders) team forms a vital customer-facing function within the business, representing Metson in many day-to-day client interactions. As a cohesive and resilient team, it operates in a dynamic environment where problem-solving, responsiveness, and consistency are essential.

The team operates under the leadership of the Managing Director, Adri Truter, whose guidance and commitment continue to strengthen and shape the function and its contribution to the business. Guided by Metson‘s CORE VALUES, the team delivers trusted, reliable service through a structured POLECC (Plan, Organise, Lead, Execute, Control, and Communicate) approach that supports coordinated and efficient execution.

Ann Pelser

Manager: Planning, CIBDO, Plant PMW & Governance

Ann plays an integral role across Planning, CIBDO, Plant PMW, and Governance, ensuring the effective coordination and execution of daily operations. She helps align operational requirements with governance standards through structured planning, workflow coordination, and careful oversight across multiple functions. With a strong focus on production planning and logistics, Ann contributes to continuity, efficiency, and consistency across the business.

Cecilia Henning

Controller: CIBDO

Cecilia oversees CIBDO operations and works closely with consignment depots across the North and Central regions. She coordinates the orders process, consignment requests, and customer queries while supporting consistency through accurate monthly stock balancing. Cecilia also plays an important relationship-management role, maintaining strong client partnerships through clear communication, dependable service, and a practical understanding of customer needs.

Charlene De Jonge

CIBDO Coordinator

Charlene is responsible for coordinating consignment, in-transit, buffer stock, and direct orders across the Western, Eastern, and Northern Cape, as well as parts of the Free State. She manages orders, consignment requests, and customer queries with a structured, detail-focused approach, while accurate monthly depot stock balancing helps maintain control across her region. Her consistent communication and reliable service delivery contribute to smooth day-to-day execution and strong client relationships.

Together, the CIBDO team helps keep customer orders moving efficiently through responsive coordination, clear communication, and dependable follow-through.
